Refund Policy

SSausage (hereinafter “the Company”) establishes and discloses the following Refund Policy regarding the withdrawal of subscription and refund of coins purchased by members. This Policy organizes the contents of Articles 15-2 through 15-6 of the Terms and Conditions in a manner easy for users to understand; where this Policy differs from the Terms and Conditions, whichever is more favorable to the user shall apply.

1. Scope of Application

This Policy applies to coins purchased by members in return for payment.

  • Paid Coins: coins granted to a member upon purchase — subject to refund.
  • Free Coins: coins granted free of charge, such as the initial sign-up grant, advertisement viewing rewards, or events and promotions — not subject to refund.

Coins are goods exclusive to the Service that are deducted when using functions such as adding storage space, adding markers, and translating events within the Service provided by the Company.

2. Period of Provision of Coins

  • The validity period of Paid Coins is 5 years from the last date of use. The last date of use means the later of the purchase date of the relevant coins or the member’s last date of coin use.
  • The Company shall notify the scheduled expiration, the reason therefor, and the quantity of coins concerned at least 30 days prior to the scheduled expiration date, by means the member can confirm such as app notifications or email. Coins for which no notice has been given shall not expire.
  • For Free Coins, the Company may set a separate validity period in accordance with its service policy.

3. Withdrawal of Subscription (within 7 days of purchase, where no coins have been used)

  • A member may withdraw their subscription within 7 days from the date of purchasing coins, in which case the Company shall refund the full payment amount without deducting any penalty or fee.
  • However, pursuant to Article 17, Paragraph 2 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, if any portion of the purchased coins has been used, withdrawal of subscription for that purchase is restricted.
  • Even where withdrawal of subscription is restricted, coins that remain unused may be refunded under Section 4.

4. Refund of Remaining Coins (no time limit; available even where coins have been partly used)

  • A member may, regardless of reason and at any time, apply for a refund of Paid Coins that remain unused (hereinafter “Remaining Paid Coins”).
  • This right may be exercised even after the withdrawal period (7 days) has elapsed and even where part of the purchased coins has been used.
  • An application for a refund is unrelated to membership withdrawal. It may be made while maintaining membership status, and after receiving a refund the member may continue using the Service and purchase coins again.
  • Where a member withdraws from membership, Free Coins shall be extinguished and Remaining Paid Coins shall be refunded under this Section.

5. How the Refund Amount Is Calculated

Calculation basis

Effective unit price = payment amount ÷ number of coins actually granted for that purchase (including bonus coins)
Refundable amount = number of Remaining Paid Coins × effective unit price
Refund amount = refundable amount − penalty
  • Where purchases have been made multiple times at different prices, the effective unit price is calculated as a weighted average.
  • Amounts of less than one won are rounded up in favor of the member.
  • Since Free Coins are used first when coins are deducted, the Paid Coins of members holding Free Coins remain available for longer.

Example — purchase of 33,000 coins for 11,000 KRW

Where the application is made within 7 days of purchase (no penalty)

Coins used Remaining Paid Coins Refund amount
0 33,000 11,000 KRW
3,000 30,000 10,000 KRW
16,500 16,500 5,500 KRW
33,000 0 0 KRW

Where the application is made after 7 days from purchase (10% penalty)

Coins used Remaining Paid Coins Refundable amount Penalty Refund amount
0 33,000 11,000 KRW 1,100 KRW 9,900 KRW
3,000 30,000 10,000 KRW 1,000 KRW 9,000 KRW
16,500 16,500 5,500 KRW 550 KRW 4,950 KRW
33,000 0 0 KRW 0 KRW

6. Penalty

  • The penalty is 10% of the refundable amount. The Company may reduce or waive it.
  • In the following cases, refunds are made without deducting a penalty.
    • Where a refund is applied for within 7 days from the date of purchase (including cases where part of the coins has already been used)
    • Where the cause is attributable to the Company (duplicate payment due to a service error, failure to grant coins, erroneous deduction, etc.)
    • Where the Company terminates or suspends the Service
    • Where the Company changes the Terms and Conditions or its coin policy unfavorably to the member and the member terminates without agreeing thereto

7. Cases Where No Refund Is Made

  • Where all purchased coins have been used: there are no remaining coins to refund, so no refund is applicable. Coins already used are deemed to have been fully provided as a service.
  • Coins acquired by fraudulent means or used in violation of the Terms and Conditions: the Company may refuse the refund or recover such coins.
  • Coins that have expired after the validity period: they are not restored and are not subject to refund (limited to cases where the prior notice under Section 2 has been given).

The recovery of coins is made only within the scope of the balance held by the member, and the coin balance shall not fall below zero. However, where a refund is made by decision of an app market operator or a card company, any portion that could not be recovered may be recorded as unrecovered coins pursuant to Section 10.

8. Refund Method and Processing Time

  • Refunds are, in principle, made by the same method used for payment. Credit card payments follow card authorization cancellation (including partial cancellation), and easy payments follow the cancellation procedures of each payment method.
  • Where the relevant payment method does not support partial cancellation, the refund may be made to an account designated by the member; in such case, account information (account holder, bank name, account number) is collected to the extent necessary for the refund.
  • The Company shall proceed with the refund within 3 business days from the date it confirms the grounds for the refund.
  • However, depending on the schedules of card companies, payment gateways, or app market operators, it may take additional time for the member to actually see the refund. Credit card authorization cancellations usually take 3 to 7 business days to be reflected by the card company.
  • Once the refund is completed, the relevant coins are deducted from the member’s account.

9. How to Apply

  • Application in the app: You may apply on the Settings > Coin Management screen.
    • Within 7 days of purchase and where no coins have been used: apply for withdrawal of subscription for the relevant payment in your purchase history.
    • In other cases: apply for a refund of remaining coins.
  • Application through customer support: https://www.ssausage.com/#/support
  • When applying, you can check the refundable amount, penalty, actual refund amount, and the number of coins to be recovered in advance.

10. Purchases Made Through App Markets (In-App Purchases)

  • For purchases made through in-app purchases on Google Play or the App Store, the authority to cancel the payment lies with the relevant app market operator. Please apply for a refund through each market’s refund procedure.
  • Where a refund is made by the market, the Company shall recover the coins granted for that purchase after confirming the refund. Such recovery is made only within the scope of the balance held.
  • Where the balance is insufficient at the time of recovery and some coins cannot be recovered, the shortfall is recorded as “unrecovered coins” and is successively offset against coins granted thereafter (including purchases, advertisement rewards, and event grants). While unrecovered coins remain, the granting of coins and the use of paid functions may be restricted (Terms and Conditions, Article 15-3, Paragraphs 7 and 8).
  • However, no unrecovered coins are recorded for refunds arising from causes attributable to the Company or defects in the Service, or for cancellations of payment by minors.
  • The Company notifies the member of the grounds and details before or simultaneously with the recording, offsetting, and restriction, and the member may raise an objection through customer support.
  • The processing period and approval of refunds for in-app purchases are governed by the policies of the relevant app market operator.

11. Upon Termination of the Service

Where the Company terminates the Service, the Company shall give prior notice pursuant to Article 10, Paragraph 3 of the Terms and Conditions and refund the entire refundable amount of the Remaining Paid Coins held by members without deducting any penalty. Free Coins are not subject to refund.
